UCEI, FERMCO, NSF, NASA, EPA, UNAVCO, UC-LANL, UCSD, and UC-IGPP totaling
$5,080,803
- Administered 36 awards from 12 agencies totaling $4,587,078 including 25
new awards and $1,599,965 in new funding for fiscal year 1994/95
- Submitted 39 scientific papers for publication to 19 journals and
publishers
- Professor Emeritus John C. Crowell awarded the Penrose Medal from the
Geological Society of America
- Dr. Lorne G. Everett elected into the Russian Academy of Sciences; ICS
hosted reception in his honor June 7, 1995
- Professor Arthur G. Sylvester awarded the UC Presidential Award for
Excellence in Undergraduate Research for the UCSB campus
- September 29, 1994: Hosted Open House in new offices at Girvetz Hall,

- Participated in Los Angeles Regional Seismic Experiment (LARSE) October

- Windy Brimer, Andrew Byers, Jason McKenna and Michael Watkins were awarded

- Bruce Luyendyk and Ralph Archuleta organized and hosted, USC-SCEC
sponsored, western Transverse Ranges workshop at UCSB, January 22-24, 1995
- Archuleta, Keller, Luyendyk presented seminar on the ICS Earthquake Project
(ICSEP) to local government officials in May 1995
- Ralph Archuleta interviewed by KSBY in response to an earthquake in the San
Luis Obispo area (September 28, 1994)
- Completed a draft seismic hazard analysis of the Santa Barbara Channel for
the Mineral Management Service in collaboration with Lawrence Livermore
National Laboratory
- Drilled 520 meter hole into granite in Garner Valley and installed downhole
seismographs and ground water pressure monitors
- Participated in UCSB 2nd Annual Earthquake Fair, April 13, 1995
- Set up earthquake information booth for Earth Day Celebration at SBCC,
